Short ride

Well, today is my first day of college classes. Class starts at 1730 (5:30 pm for the non-military people out there) so I feel a bit rushed for time today. I did a short walk/trot (mostly walk) ride on Varro today. I finished off his ride with tons of grooming, and a stretching/massage session. Woobie was so appreciative! It was really nice after a couple days of "hard" work.

I am going to participate in the 14 Photo Challenge hosted by our friends at Eventing in Color. It looks like SO MUCH FUN! I cannot wait to start blogging my photos! Here's the deal:

Must be new photos taken this year, 2014. You can do it all in one post, or spread it out over many.  I plan to do one post every Saturday until all 14 are done. Have fun!

Quick Arena Ride and Other News

We did a quick 30 min ride in the arena today. Varro was LA_ZY!!! We worked mainly on our walk/trot transitions (without tossing his head). We also worked on halt at X then track right/left at C.  I have incorporated the Up Up Down exercise into our warm up so we will be doing that every time I ride. Not a very eventful ride, but it was a ride! We are expecting a cold snap next week so I am cleaning his blanket today to get ready.

On another note, Apollo will be coming back home in 2 weeks. He wasn't quite working out for the Lady who adopted him... So, he will be back in the herd and in the working rotation soon.

Here are a few pictures of Apollo when he came here about a year ago for rehab due to a torn suspensory ligament. It has since healed and he is trail sound only as it did healed contracted. It will be good to have him home again :-) Stay tuned for more posts about him!
